Tufts of selected boar bristle are combined with "spired" nylon to meet the needs of those with normal to thick hair.

By adding a single "spired" nylon bristle to each tuft, Mason Pearson brings the benefits of boar bristle to those with thicker hair. The stiffer nylon bristle reaches down through thicker hair to reach the scalp while the shorter boar bristles clean and polish the hair shaft. The classic pneumatic cushioned design, originated by Mason Pearson, allows the bristles to conform to the scalp, yielding maximum benefit from each brushstroke.
