  • The "Extra" in the model name refers its extra-stiff grade boar bristles.
  • Best suited for fine to normal hair of long to extra-long length.
  • 8 rings of stiffer-grade pure boar bristle tufts
  • Each tuft contains bristles cut in 2 lengths
    • Shorter bristles focus on cleaning and polishing the hair cuticle
    • Longer "spired" bristles collect and distribute natural oils that add body and shine.

I can not say enough about this brush. Had I bought one years ago, I would have probably saved a lot of money on too many expensive bottles of shampoo and conditioner. This brush has singlehandedly changed my hair! My flat, straight hair is still straight, but now has volume and body. I wish I would have found this brush a very long time ago. This is the first product I have ever taken the time to review- I just love this brush!

Amazing!  I feel like I am getting the effect of brushing, combing, and conditioning my hair all at once.  I have combination hair.  It is wavy and fairly thick in the back, and straighter and a bit thinner on top in the front.  It's also fine, and prone to breakage.  The Mason Pearson boar bristle brush is sturdy enough to get through the thicker part of my hair without tearing and breaking.  Very pleased!  I will probably buy a Handy at some point for my purse.

FEELS GREAT ON MY SCALP & WORKS WONDERFUL FOR FINE HAIR.  THIS IS THE ONLY BRAND WITH BOAR BRISTLES THAT DOES NOT GIVE MY HAIR STATIC.  IT'S ON THE PRICEY SIDE, BUT WORTH IT CONSIDERING HOW LONG IT LASTS (I THINK I'VE HAD MINE 5 YEARS NOW).  THEY'RE MADE VERY WELL.

An ideal gift that lasts. December 17, 2008

I bought this brush for my wife last Christmas.  She still raves about it.  It's now a year old and still looks like the day it came out of the box.  Having thought the expense wasn't worth it, I did my research on other brushes since purchasing it...nothing comes close, and I'm proved incorrect.  Coupled with Howard's knowledge and professionalism at Tressence, this purchase is an ideal gift.  Thanks!
